Why I Work at Dogs for Better Lives: Trish Welch

By June 4, 2020 No Comments

Trish Welch,
Operations Director

I work for Dogs for Better Lives because, although I do not directly work with our dogs or our clients, it is fulfilling knowing that the contributions I make to the team ultimately have a positive impact on dogs and people.

I absolutely love that dogs who were given up, abandoned, found or bred are given the opportunity to assist people. How cool is that? Whether dogs become Assistance Dogs or Career Change Dogs, they are all well taken care of while being given the best training possible.

The people I work with are dynamic! We are an integrated team of people – all working toward the same goal – who want nothing more to see our dogs succeed thereby enhancing the lives of the people we serve.

I enjoy assisting coworkers with streamlining processes to make their jobs easier, in turn reducing their stress and increasing productivity – ultimately maximizing donor dollars.

The opportunity to share ideas and develop new projects that assist with the sustainability of our environment is an added bonus, and just one more reason I love working for Dogs for Better Lives.

My favorite quote that I live by, is why I feel my position as Operations Director allows me the perfect opportunity to think differently to improve our processes – making the most of our potential:

“We cannot solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”– Albert Einstein
