Why I Work at Dogs for Better Lives: Amy Perrow

By January 20, 2020 January 22nd, 2020 No Comments

Amy Perrow,
Operations Coordinator

I learned about Dogs for Better Lives through a friend who worked at and raised puppies for Canine Companions for Independence. Seeing her puppies and visiting the CCI campus really spoke to me and made me feel proud of what she and CCI were doing. I knew then that I wanted to be a part of that culture, and work for a similar Assistance Dog organization – Dogs for Better Lives.

After relocating to Oregon in 2018, I patiently waited for a spot at DBL to open and I applied as soon as one did. I was hired, and now support all departments at DBL to make sure all jobs run smoothly and efficiently.

Working at DBL and living the values put out by this organization really helps me to follow the message of my favorite quote:

“Until we can extend our circle of compassion to all living things, humanity will not find peace.” – Albert Schweitzer

Amy lives in Medford, Oregon with her partner Daniel, their 2 dogs, Leila and Leroy, and cat Raven.  Amy enjoys exploring new areas of the Pacific West Coast in search of any and all waterfalls she can lay her eyes on and watching college sports and MLB – Go Braves!
