  1. I want to give back to an organization that’s doing good for their community. Likewise, i feel it’s important to be involved in an organization that shares some of the same beliefs as you.
  2. I’ve always been an animal lover, and more so, a dog lover. This organization represents a perfect blend of dog lovers, and people who want what’s best for their well being.
  3. I volunteer because I believe it’s important to be active within a community you believe in, and take advantage of opportunities when presented.
  4. As a graphic designer, I know I can bring my own unique skill set and creative contributions to this group. As a designer, you don’t always get to choose what projects or organizations you get to work with, but I chose YPB, and I’m excited for what’s to come.
  5. I volunteer because I know I have the ability to make some sort of impact, big or small, but an impact nonetheless, and that matters to me.

Matty was adopted from China, grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and moved to Portland, Oregon in 2015. Prior to graduating, she also studied Mandarin Chinese and Criminology at Kent State University. In 2019, she secured her bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Oregon State.

With a graphic design background, she has a passion for brand identity, package design, as well as illustration. With every project she has had the privilege of working on, she strives to bring her own unique skill set and perspective.
