CENTRAL POINT, OR; For many nonprofit organizations, nearly a third (31%) of their annual giving occurs in the month of December.(1) Dogs for Better Lives (DBL) is no different, though closer to 40% of our donations are received during the last month of the year.
Southern Oregon’s Medical Eye Center is launching their “12 Days of Giving” campaign throughout December, benefiting a number of individuals and community organizations. Two organizations were recognized with a corporate donation, including Dogs for Better Lives.
“On a daily basis, we see patients in our clinic who have visual impairments, and we understand how that impacts their lives. For our ‘12 Days of Giving,’ we wanted to donate to a local organization who provides assistance to those who also need help with their daily activities, and Dogs for Better Lives was the perfect choice,” explained Clinical Director, Patty Casebolt
The Medical Eye Center’s Virginia Wolf (Assistant Director, Marketing) came out to DBL on December 18th with two of her colleagues, Patty Casebolt, and Jennifer Rafala (Executive Assistant and Comanagement Coordinator) to present the $1,000 check. In addition, the Medical Eye Center and DBL, including Certified Trainer Jenny Nickelson and Director of Development Harvey Potts, participated in a 5-minute Facebook LIVE interview, profiling Dogs for Better Lives and the organization’s impact in the local community.
“We’re so appreciative of the Medical Eye Center for including us in their 12 Days of Giving! We are truly honored to be recognized by one of our local area businesses, and humbled by their generous gift that will help us to continue rescuing, training and placing Assistance Dogs with our clients locally and nationwide,” stated DBL’s Marketing and Communications Specialist, Monica Schuster.
For more than 100-years the doctors of the Medical Eye Center have been providing care and services in southern Oregon. Now the largest eye care practice in the region, the Medical Eye Center has a long-standing tradition of giving back and their team is committed to improving vision in the community, region, and world.
“We were honored to have Virginia, Jennifer, and Patty out here this week, allowing us to be a part of their ’12 Days of Giving.’ We love it when this happens organically in the community, even more so when it raises awareness for the invaluable work we do,” noted DBL’s Development Director, Harvey Potts.
