“Canine Cuff” Bracelets Bring About Community (April 2017)

By April 20, 2017 August 13th, 2019 No Comments

Earlier this spring, Crater High School (Central Point, OR) student Samantha was thinking about how she would contribute to her high school’s annual Non Profit Day.  Samantha decided she wanted to bring about awareness and support for Dogs for the Deaf’s mission.  In using her creative talents with jewelry, she created unique one-of-a-kind “Canine Cuff” bracelets and sold them to her friend and students at CHS.

Samantha visited Dogs for the Deaf and presented a check to Development Director Harvey Potts.  She continued her fundraising efforts at her school’s non-profit day.  Students were asked to choose a group that resonates with them.  Being hard of hearing herself, Samantha understands the importance of our work, it also brought her  self-confidence and joy.  Samantha’s handmade bracelets helped to bring about awareness, support the community, while raising more than $100.00 to support Dogs for the Deaf’s mission.
